Pablo Neruda:

>

Somebody Get me a Doctor!

By Marc Offenbach

I made the trip from Manhattan to Benidorm to see Bruce with six buddies. The Estadio Foietes was like a high school football field, but they fit about 30,000 Bruce fans in there, and it was an unbelievable night. I have seen Bruce many, many times and this was one of the best! Yes, Bruce brought out some lesser known gems which were great—"Seeds," "Youngstown," "Janey Don't You Lose Heart"—but it was the driving force of tunes such as "The Rising," "Badlands," and "Lonesome Day" that really hit a chord with the audience.

The crowd was insane at all times and mesmerized by The Boss. The second part of the "Twist and Shout" finale morphed into a rockin' version of "La Bamba," which went down especially well with the Spanish language crowd. In the middle of it all, Bruce "faints" from exhaustion and lies flat on the stage, until a doctor in a white coat runs out with an oxygen mask. He administers oxygen to Bruce, and then the master jumps up, rejuvenated, and carries the finale on for another five minutes.

As always, the audience is more exhausted then the maestro himself after the lights come up.
